About WELD
WELD is a study in natural color, cloth, and process.
We create small-batch silk pieces dyed with plants, roots and minerals- honouring the intelligence of nature and the hands that shape each piece.

Why WELD
WELD takes its name from Reseda luteola, one of the oldest yellow dye plants, treasured for centuries for the brilliant, luminous colour it gives.
The name carries another history. Weld, in the sense of joining, grew from an older Germanic word meaning to boil, bubble, melt or flow—language born of heat and transformation.
For us, the two meanings meet naturally: plant and process, colour and cloth, transformed and joined through heat, water and time.

Wild Color
Wild color is not neon. It is not uniform. It is color with depth, variation, and life.
Our palette is drawn from natural materials—leaves, flowers, bark, roots, and minerals. Each season brings new shades. Each batch tells a different story.

Small Batch
We dye in small batches by hand. Slight shifts in colour and subtle imperfections are part of the process—and part of the beauty.
Every piece is individual. Nothing is ever exactly the same. Made slowly. Made to last.
